Found a car in the photo at an undeground parking lot after shopping at a department store in Funabashi.
Suspecting the original model is the Daihatsu make "Midget" which had mounted a spare tire at its front. Not very sure.

348. A mysterious signboard
From time to time, I park my car at Sakae town office.
There, facing to the street, a large signboard stands as in the photo.
This is a subject too much for the town to do anthying.
(the signboard reads; non nuclear warfare peace town declaration)
So, I modified the picture a little bit as in the left one.
I believe that something like this could be achieved if and when the town allocates the time and its budget.
(here, "non nuclear warfare peace" is replaced with "non utility poles")

347. Se-madara-kogane
During PC operation, something plopped onto the keyboard.
A beetle no more than 1 cm long.
Looks like the species called semadara-kogane. Se (back) madara (mottled) kogane (beetle).

346. Waru-nasubi
Thouhg it looked sidewalk shrubberies were blossoming, the flower was for waru-nasubi (literally means rogue egg-plant).
I had been wondering who gave this type of accusing name. Acc. to "Wonder of weeds around us" of "Science i paperbook series", the name was given by Dr. Makino Tomitarou. He, in early showa-era, found thid plant he had never seen before at Sanri-zuka, now Narita airport, and brought back to his place and raised it. Then it overgrew so greatly that nearby farmers suffered tremendously. Thus the plant was given this name.
These days I see this plant everywhere close to my place. Its barbs could be OK but it is said that its cut end secretes a nerve poison. It looks better not to handle them.

Walking with Jiro this morning is under a rainy weather.
A girl going to a kindergarten trots and overtakes us.

344. The Great Escape
Walking Jiro every morning and evening makes me get acquainted with neighborhood dogs and their owners, the so-called dog-friends.
Well, the photo is for a book which protagonist is Haru-chan, shiba, one of our dog-friends.
This Haru-chan, for various reasons, escaped at Tateyama, 100 km away from here Sakura, and after 3-month wandering she was finally rescued.
The book certainly convinces us that though the combined effort of many people who looked at the dog posters and newspaper ads resulted in her protection, after all this was only possible because of the warmth of hearts of the people around Tateyama and Chikura.

343. Gin-baika
Upon going out this morning, I noticed noises of "wu-wa-an" like, inside a powerplant, all their auxiliary equipment are running in full power.
Must be bees. Yes, honeybees are swarming aiming at the flowers of gin-baika just started blossoming.
This tree strongly smells of pine resin especially when being trimmed.

342. Turi-ga-saki shore
Iti-no-miya shore, where the Olympic surfing is to be held in July next year.
A view from Taitou Fishing Port beneath the Taitou Point lighthouse.
The venue is the area beyond the jetty in the middle of the left photo, and is under construction.
No particularly special facility is prepared except for the shower rooms, toilets, exhibition area and planting of the surroundings. No seats for the audiences, only standing area.
Today a southern wind was strong but the waves were not so great. Good waves might come if there emerges a typhoon in the distance.

341. Utu-gi
As uno-hana in the ♪♫ 「Natu ha kinu (summer has come)」 ♪♫ stopped blossoming, I trimmed the branches of the utu-gi.
The branch ends cut last year show hollows in the center as the utu-gi name (hollow-tree) indicates, I had thought the cneter is hollow from the beginning. However the cut cross section indicates that the core area is filled with a sort of soft tissue.
Upon being cut, this core tissue is exposed to the weather and vanishes, and result in the hollows.
The two cross sections at the left of the photo are those cut this time, and the right cross section is the one cut last year.

An acorn started sprouting.
Though 2 peices of round acorn picked up last autumn had been kept for a while in a widemouthed bottle placed on a bookshelf, in winter I buried them into the side of flowerpot trees. That came out. Another one seems not survived.
Initially I was not very sure. It might be a weed. But it became to show slender leaves with saw-tooth edges. It must be the kunugi. The internet site check just to make sure with the word of "kunugi seedling" showed no mistake. I have to prepare for the transplanting.
